Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what information Runway LTD (“we”), the developer of LayoutFix, collects and how we use it. LayoutFix is designed to keep your typing on your Mac: layout detection and correction run locally and offline.
What stays on your Mac
Everything you type is processed on your Mac only. LayoutFix keeps the text it analyses in memory on your computer, for the moment it needs to fix a word, and it sends none of it to us or to anyone else.
What the app sends to our license server
- Account email and password — when you create an account or sign in, sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We store your password only as a salted Argon2 hash.
- Session secret — a random code that keeps you signed in; we store only a hash of it.
- Anonymous device ID — a one-way hash derived from your Mac's hardware ID, used to apply the 3-Mac limit and one free trial per Mac.
- Mac name and app version — so you can recognise your Macs and so we can support older versions.
Our server also records when each Mac last checked its license, and standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) that we keep for security and troubleshooting for up to 30 days.
Payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and collects your payment details, billing address and tax information under Paddle's privacy policy. We receive from Paddle the information needed to link a subscription to your account: a customer ID, a subscription ID, its status and billing period, and your email.
We email you for account matters only, such as password reset links. Paddle sends receipts and billing notices.
How we use the information
We use it to provide LayoutFix: to run your account, check your subscription, prevent abuse of the free trial, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. We share it only with the service providers that run LayoutFix for us (our hosting provider, Paddle, and our email provider), and as required by law.
Where it is stored and for how long
Account data is stored on our server hosted by DigitalOcean. We keep it while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, apart from records we must keep by law (such as tax records held by Paddle). We keep the anonymous device IDs of Macs that used a free trial so each Mac gets one trial.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data by writing to support@spark.org.il. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or Israel) you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
